From 3 to 4 July, a delegation from Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Centre of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology visited Almazov Centre as part of the Centre of Competence activities in the field of medical care quality and safety management. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the Almazov Centre's successful practices in ensuring medical quality and safety. The delegation included Olga Pimenova, Head Nurse and Lyudmila Sorokina, Ward Nurse from Dmitry Rogachev Medical Centre.
The colleagues from Moscow were welcomed by Dmitry Ovchinnikov, Chief of the University Clinic, and Vitaly Glebov, Director of the Command Centre and a team of experts from Almazov Centre.
On the first day of the visit, the guests toured the Children's Rehabilitation Clinic. They also visited two pediatric departments and the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Unit for Children. Anna Vasilieva, Chief Nurse, accompanied by a team of colleagues, provided a detailed overview of the treatment process and introduced the guests to the concept of the clinic. Inna Trubnikova, Head of Nutrition Therapy Department, provided an overview of the food processing unit and shared insights on best practices in nutrition therapy at Almazov Centre.
On the second day of the visit, guests toured the clinical departments of the Main Clinical Facility and the Perinatal Centre. They visited the central sterilization department, centralized milk unit of Nutrition Therapy Department and met with Lyudmila Shirokova, Head of Epidemiology Department, who shared the epidemiological safety approach to ensuring medical quality and safety at Almazov Centre.
During the meeting, the guests learned about the Almazov Centre's best practices in a number of areas, including drug safety, patient care (nursing manipulations) and surgical safety at the nursing level. The surgical department and intensive care unit were used as examples of how to achieve these standards, as well as epidemiological safety and nutrition therapy.
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. At the conclusion of the visit, the guests expressed high praise for the clinical capabilities of Almazov Centre and conveyed their desire for continued collaboration.
