World Patient Safety Day, observed annually on 17 September, aims to raise global awareness about patient safety and call for solidarity and united action by the professional medical community, patients and their families, and various patient organisations. Several events were held at Almazov Centre to mark this occasion.
On the occasion of World Patient Safety Day 2024, Almazov Centre hosted a series of lectures themed «Improving Diagnostics for Patient Safety,» included:

The theme of the meetings was “Don't make mistakes, remember safety!” Participants discussed the accuracy of diagnostic and treatment procedures and the impact of evidence-based medicine on the effectiveness and safety of diagnostic procedures in clinical practice. Much focus was on the existing risks in diagnostic procedures and potential strategies for their mitigation.
An Open Day was held at the Perinatal Centre of Almazov Centre on 19 September as part of the World Patient Safety Day 2024. More than 120 expectant parents attended the event. Such events enable the establishment of a trusting relationship with patients in the provision of care, which ensures greater safety and patient satisfaction. Participants watched a video about childbirth at the Perinatal Centre and had a chance to ask questions to the Deputy Chief for Medical Affairs.
