On September 15-19, 2014 the 3rd School of practical arrhythmology was held in Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre. The initiator of the School is the Research Department of Interventional Arrhythmology of Federal Almazov Centre. The School was attended by more than 200 experts, not only from the North West region, but also from all over Russia.
The School basis is the lectures and the surgeon's show cases of heart rhythm disturbances in adults and children as well as in patients with heart failure. The surgeon's show case were carried out with the participation of the leading experts from Russia, Europe and the CIS countries. In the course of the operations the most modern technologies of interventional treatment of cardiac arrhythmias have been used. The demonstration operations conducted special guests from Moscow, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Tyumen, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, the Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, and Italy. The workshops were devoted to the programming of implantable devices as well as training on modern simulators. During the School the lectures by leading interventional arrhythmologists were presented, among the lecturers were: Professor D. Egorov, MD S. Yuzvinkevich, MD O. Gordeev, MD V. Marinin, Professor D. Ryzhkova, Professor C. Tscöpe, Profesor J. Kautzner, Professor A. Curnis and many others.
The Conference included the Course on the anatomy of heart and blood vessels to relevant arrhythmias, master classes on magnetic resonance imaging and evaluation of autonomic nervous system regulation. The real-time operation broadcast was carried out in Germany (University Hospital of Leipzig) for the treatment of life-threatening arrhythmias using magnetic robotics and was shown at the Conference hall.
