Happy New Year!
Creation and development of the modern multidisciplinary scientific and educational research biomedical world-class centre remains the priority direction of our institution which anniversary we’ll celebrate this year.
Basic and clinical researches within the translational medicine concept, educational programs and innovative design — this all is not a complete list of the Centre work areas. For thirty-five years our Centre has been standing at the forefront for the health of our citizens.
During these years Federal Almazov Centre has grown into the one of the largest and most authoritative Russian scientific schools which makes significant contribution to the domestic medicine development. Today it brings together the efforts of physicians, researchers and educators aimed at implementation of the state policy in the field of health care, medical education and science for the challenging task of increasing lifetime in our country.
Last year we had a chance to enrich the history of the Centre. According to the decision of the Russian Federation Federal Assembly the scientific and educational medical cluster at the base of Federal Almazov Centre was approved. Currently this project is fully appropriate to the innovative model of national health care development and is supported by a number of major St. Petersburg universities, scientific and industrial associations, and has every reason to be successfully completed in the near future. Much of work remains to be done. 2015 year should be a turning point in solving a number of such issues.
Full commissioning of all units of the Treatment and Rehabilitation Complex # 2 is an important component of our material-technical base providing a real breakthrough in the field of clinical and diagnostic capabilities, and Basic Research Centre.
Among the undeniable achievements of the past year is the creation of departments. Federal Almazov Centre development as a major educational institution in the coming year suggests a significant intensification of the departments’ work for improving the educational, organizational and methodological activity that displays key positions in the preparation and implementation of educational programs within the continuous postgraduate medical education.
It is necessary to continue the international cooperation development of the Centre. The practical integration in the international scientific and medical community involves active participation of leading scientists and promising young researchers in joint projects with the foreign partner universities, societies and associations. Our achievements, especially in the field of basic biomedical science, meet the highest international standards and, of course, should be widely represented both in foreign publications and major international scientific forums.
I am sure that the coming New Year — the Year of Fight against Cardiovascular Diseases — will bring us new achievements and success.
