Heart Failure Research Department
Heart Failure Research Department was established in 2001, initially as a research laboratory to study the pathogenetic mechanisms and search for new approaches to the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF). In 2009, it was transformed into research department.

Training and education
As part of the All-Russian workshops on Cardiology and the National Healthcare Project, the specialists of the Department are implementing an extensive educational programme for doctors of the Northwestern Federal District. All practitioners have an opportunity to discuss the modern strategies and tactics for heart failure treatment, to get updated on the current rules in organizing high-tech medical care and heart transplantation, treatment methods for CHF patients and management tactics.
Maria Sitnikova is the initiator and head of the regular St. Petersburg training «Topical issues of strategy and tactics for CHF treatment», lecturer and moderator of Heart Failure training sessions held under the guidance of the Russian Society of Cardiology, Society of Heart Failure Specialists, Russian non- governmental organization for hypertension management and prevention Antihypertensive League.
Tatyana Lelyavina is the supervisor of the educational cycle «Cardiopulmonary testing in cardiology», lecturer and moderator of Heart Failure training sessions held under the guidance of the Russian Society of Cardiology, Society of Heart Failure Specialists.
Petr Fedotov is the supervisor of the educational cycle «Topical issues of heart transplantation for CHF patients», lecturer and moderator of Heart Failure training sessions held under the guidance of the Russian Society of Cardiology, Society of Heart Failure Specialists.
