On November 16, 2013 scientific conference “Cardioprotection — from experiment to clinical practice” was held in Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre.
The conference executive secretary is Head of anesthesiology and intensive care research laboratory of Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre Dr. Andrey Bautin.
The conference covered current ideas about biochemical and physiological mechanisms of myocardial protection, including pharmacological and ischemic preconditioning. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of fundamental and experimental research results into clinical practice, the use of cardioprotection methods in anesthesiology, intensive care and cardiac surgery.
The conference lectures were presented by many leading institutes experts, among them: Institute of General Resuscitation named after V. A. Negovsky (Moscow), Moscow State University named after M. V. Lomonosov (Moscow), Pavlov State Medical University
(St. Petersburg), Northern State Medical University (Arkhangelsk), Tyumen Cardiology Center (Tyumen), Mechnikov State Medical University (St. Petersburg), Almazov Federal Medical Research Centre (St. Petersburg). Total 12 papers were presented.
Plenary lectures were given by European experts in the field of cardioprotection: Scientific Secretary of European Society of Anesthesiology Professor Stephen Hurt (University of Ghent, Belgium), Professor V. V. Lihvantsev (Institute of General Resuscitation named after V. A. Negovsky, Moscow) M. M. Galagudza (Director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine of Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre).
