In 2016—2017, the Almazov Center specialists took an active part in the projects of the World Health Organization (WHO), Office for Europe on treatment of non-communicable diseases. Dr. Aleksey Yakovlev, Head of Acute Coronary Syndrome Laboratory, Associate Professor of the Chair for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, and Dr. Oxana Rotar, Head of Epidemiology of Non-communicable Diseases Laboratory were invited as experts.
During the WHO missions in the Republic of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, the Russian experts were involved in the complex assessment of health care systems for non-communicable diseases prevention and a special analysis of the current medical care for patients with acute coronary syndrome and cerebrovascular accident at all stages.
The final version of the report prepared by the international group of WHO experts including the Almazov Centre specialists was presented at the meeting of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan on April 11, 2017.
On April 25, 2017, the Almazov Center specialists took an active part in the session of WHO Regional Office for Europe in Moscow. The co-chair of the session «Development of policy basis for non-communicable diseases» was Director General of the Almazov Federal North-West Medical Research Centre Professor Evgeny Shlyakhto.

- «Non-communicable diseases and investing in the future: epidemiological aspects» Oxana Rotar, Head of the Epidemiology of Non-communicable Diseases Laboratory ;
- «Review of medical care organization in myocardial infarctions and strokes» Aleksey Yakovlev, Head of Acute Coronary Syndrome Laboratory.
