On April 19, 2017 specialists from the Hadassah Medical Centre (Israel) visited the Almazov Federal Centre. For nearly 100 years, Hadassah and its hospitals have been the leaders in Israel medicine creating the foundations and setting the standards for modern health care in the country.
The delegation from Israel was represented by:
- Professor Oren Levi — Deputy Director of the Hadassah Clinic
- Professor Eyal Mishani— Head of the R&D Division of the Hadassah Clinic
- Professor Polina Stepenski — Head of the Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation for Children at the Hadassah Clinic
- Michael Lotem, Consul General of Israel in St. Petersburg
As part of the growing interest in cooperation between the medical institutions of Israel and the Russian Federation, the specialists of the Hadassah clinic and the Federal Almazov North-West Medical Research Center met for introductions and exchange of experience and visited the clinical units of the Almazov Centre, in particular, the Department of Chemotherapy and Bone Marrow Transplantation.
Deputy Director General for Science of the Center, Professor Alexandra Konradi presented a talk on the latest achievements of the Almazov Federal Centre. Director of the Institute of Hematology, Professor Andrey Zaritsky spoke on the current technologies used for treatment of onco-hematological patients in the Center. The Israel colleagues paid special attention to the activities of the Department of Chemotherapy and Bone Marrow Transplantation. Possible areas of future cooperation with the focus on multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of the most complex patients were discussed by the parties.
