On June 8-9, 2017, Dr. Aleksey Yakovlev, Head of Acute Coronary Syndrome Laboratory, Associate Professor of the Chair for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, and Dr. Oxana Rotar, Head of Epidemiology of Non-communicable Diseases Laboratory took part in the World Health Organization (WHO) Meeting of the National Experts and Managers in the field of non- communicable Diseases.
The Meeting in Moscow gathered participants from 53 countries-members of the WHO European Region, as well as representatives of international organizations. The event covered the European report guidelines on the status of NCDs, analyzed progress in NCDs prevention and control over the past 6 years.
The results of the WHO Meeting of the National Experts will form the basis for the of the European region contribution to the development of a global WHO road map for the implementation of NCD tasks for 2018—2030. This roadmap will be discussed at the WHO Global Conference on NCDs, to be held in Montevideo, Uruguay, in October 2017.
Stories of success and possible development scenarios were considered in the context of the 3rd high-level meeting of the UNO on NCDs 2018 preparing.
