On June 23, 2017 in the Almazov National Medical Research Centre, Professor Ehud Klein, Director of the Research Division of the Multidisciplinary Medical Center Rambam at the Technion University (Haifa, Israel) presented a lecture entitled “Transcranial magnetic stimulation in depression therapy. Neurophysiological and clinical aspects”.
The lecture of Professor Klein focused on an innovative method of CNS diseases treatment — transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). In the recent years, the range of TMC therapeutic use has significantly expanded and the number of scientific publications is growing. This is a new direction in clinical neurology, neurophysiology and neuro-rehabilitation.
During the lecture and and the following discussion neurophysiological and clinical aspects of TMC in depression treatment based on evidence-based medicine were discussed. The lecture was intended for a wide range of neurologists, psychiatrists and psychologists.
