The Congress programme traditionally included morning, plenary and oral sessions, meetings with experts, meetings of the working groups of the European Society for Hypertension as well as trainings and poster sessions.
During the congress, a wide range of topics was discussed — from the fundamental aspects of arterial hypertension mechanisms to the outcomes of large-scale clinical studies. The specialists discussed the problems of drug therapy adherence and resistant arterial hypertension, cardiovascular and hepatobiliary systems relationship, bariatric treatment effects, cardiovascular effects of new antidiabetic drugs, nutrigenomics aspects and new biomarkers.
One of the Congress symposia was dedicated to IT and communication technologies where the participants got acquainted with the first official FDA guidelines on mobile applications in medicine.
Specialists from the Almazov North-West Medical Research Center took an active part in the work of the congress.
Professor Alexandra Konradi, Deputy General Director for Research, presented the data of ESSE-RF epidemiological study on the relationship between orthostatic reactions and carotid artery atherosclerosis.
Dr. Lyudmila Korostovtseva, Cardiologist, Researcher of the Somnology Group, presented a talk on Combined monitoring of cardiovascular system parameters and sleep.
Dr. Oxana Rotar, Head of Epidemiology of Non-Communicable Diseases Laboratory presented the data of the study on the research staff.
In addition, the second meeting of the International Hypertension Club was held within the congress. The club consists of several representatives from different countries actively involved in improving the results of hypertension patients’ management.
