Three research projects developed by the scientists of the Almazov Center were approved for funding within the Presidential Research Projects Contest aimed at long-term support of research projects to be performed by the leading scientists and promising young researchers.
In 2017, the Russian Science Foundation selected the project “Personalized therapy for cardiovascular risk reduction in obesity and type 2 diabetes patients” supervised by Prof. Evgeny Shlyakhto, General Director of the Almazov Centre.
In the nomination “Initiative research by young scientists”, the following projects were have been selected:
- “Structural and functional brain changes in patients with chronic insomnia: relationship with molecular markers of the nervous system function and cardiovascular risk factors” supervised by Dr. Lyudmila Korostovtseva,
- “Study of the SYNM gene role in mesenchymal stromal cells differentiation and congenital malformations” supervised by Dr. Anna Zlotina.
