From October 30th to November 1st, 2017, General Director of the Almazov Centre Prof. Evgeny Shlyakhto actively participated in the Congress of the National Medical Chamber “Russian healthcare today: challenges and solutions”.
The congress of the National Medical Chamber is one of the biggest platforms for consolidation of the medical community and discussions on basic questions of healthcare system development within the next 5-10 years. During her talk at the Congress Opening Ceremony Ministry of Health Veronika Skvortsova emphasized the importance of cooperation between the governing bodies and the professional community in the most important issues in healthcare. She thanked the National Medical Chamber for the support provided to the Ministry of Health.
Prof. Evgeny Shlyakhto as Vice-President of the National Medical Chamber chaired the conference “Mortality and Disability in Russia” dealing with mortality dynamics in the country, current approaches in monitoring death causes, problems of working ability assessment, main causes of disability and factors affecting the ability to get back to work, etc. In addition, Prof. Shlyakhto moderated the seminar for managers of public medical organizations.
More than 5,000 people took part in the event. Among them were representatives of the federal and regional healthcare authorities, heads of medical institutions, professional medical societies, board members of National Medical Chamber branches, paramedical staff, physicians.
