From June 7 to 9, the National Medical Innovation Forum “21st Century Medicine: Integration of Knowledge in Cross-Disciplinary Science” took place for the first time at the Almazov Centre. This large-scale event was organized by the Russian Ministry of Health, Translational Medicine Cluster, Almazov National Medical Research Centre, St. Petersburg Public Health Committee.
The Forum was chaired by Prof. Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of the Almazov Centre and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The co-chairs included Sergey Bakulev, Vladimir Vasiliev, Vladimir Kutuzov, Igor Narkevich, Andrey Rudskoy, the presidents of St. Petersburg universities and participants of the Translational Medicine Cluster.
The Forum featured a number of major events:
• II Saint Petersburg Forum of Arrhythmology
• Russian-Swedish Symposium on Fundamental Medicine
• IV All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference Physical Rehabilitation in Sports, Medicine and Adapted Physical Education
• Symposia on smart hospital and smart city, medical instrumentation, mathematical modeling in biomedicine and big data management
• Scientific session of the Translational Medicine Cluster
• Semi-finals of the UMNIK program (Youth Research and Innovation Competition) and young scientist research contest
• Biomedical innovation and development exhibition
The Forum brought together about a thousand of leading Russian and foreign specialists in various fields of medicine and related areas. During three days, the participants extensively shared their experience and knowledge in the following areas:
