The International Online Congress on Internal Medicine is a major online event that draws healthcare professionals from all fields to be up to date about the most relevant issues of internal medicine. The Congress encompasses the most prominent professional communities, associations and scientific medical schools. This year’s event marked the 350th anniversary of the birth of Herman Boerhaave.
This year, the online Congress covered the following subject areas: cardiology, general medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hepatology, psychiatry, pediatrics, preventive medicine, surgery, somnology, pulmonology, healthcare management, etc. The main external experts from the Russian Ministry of Health and representatives from the leading international medical societies of the USA, Great Britain, Belarus and Turkmenistan were invited to the Congress to discuss the current approaches and standards of care based on the international and Russian recommendations.
Three specialists from the Almazov Centre presented their scientific and practical expertise at the symposium Cardiovascular Risk: New Approaches to the Detection and Management that was held as part of the Congress and chaired by Oksana Rotar, MD, DSc, head of Research Laboratory for Epidemiology of Non-Communicable Diseases at the Almazov Centre.
