Russian Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova pointed to the significant role of the established network of national medical research centres in implementing the uniform requirements for health care in the country.
The Minister announced this on March 30, 2018 during the board meeting of the Russian Ministry of Health dedicated to the results of 2017 and a six-year period.
According to Skvortsova, special efforts should be made to adapt the medical community to the uniform requirements and national medical research centres are among those who should contribute greatly to this process.
“The twenty-two most effective federal research centres play a crucial role and have been selected based on strict and transparent criteria for performing their core functions, providing organizational, methodological, scientific, educational and human resources support for regional specialized medical facilities,” the Minister noted.
According to the Order of the Russian Ministry of Health, the Almazov National Medical Research Centre performs the core functions in cardiology and angiology.
