On June 15, the Mayor of Tampere Lauri Lyly paid a visit to St. Petersburg. During his visit, the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in medical education and the development of training, research and medical campus was signed at the Smolny Cathedral between the Translational Medicine Cluster of the Almazov Centre, the University of Tampere and the Baltic Institute of Finland.
Prof. Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of the Almazov Centre, signed the MoU on the part of the Cluster.
During the meeting, Georgy Poltavchenko, the St. Petersburg Governor, and Lauri Lyly, the Mayor of Tampere, exchanged views on the prospects for development of medical education and digital health care in St. Petersburg. The Finnish experience will contribute to the design of specialist training programs and infrastructure at the Almazov Center as well as for smart city development.
The agreement on exchange of experience for the deployment of Tampere technologies was finalized in the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Smart Saint Petersburg project office and the Smart Technology Centre of Tampere.
