On September 10, Prof. Evgeny Shlyakhto, chief visiting cardiologist of the Russian Ministry of Health for the Volga, Southern, North Caucasian and Northwestern federal districts, visited Penza. The purpose of the visit was to discuss and coordinate joint efforts in providing medical care to the residents in the Penza region as part of the Almazov Centre’s function to provide organizational and methodological support to medical care, training and innovative research in cardiology and cardiovascular surgery.
During the visit, the delegation of the Centre had an opportunity to make themselves familiar with the work of emergency dispatching centre and the regional healthcare training centre, visited the Penza regional emergency medical centre and the regional cardiovascular centre at the Burdenko Penza Regional Clinical Hospital, took part in the working meeting with chief visiting specialists in cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, healthcare IT specialists and heads of medical universities.
The specialists from the Almazov Centre shared their experience and identified the ways for further organizational and methodological support in relevant areas for reducing the cardiovascular mortality and attaining the targets.
On September 13–14, the delegation of the Centre led by Prof. Evgeny Shlyakhto, will visit Rostov and Stavropol.
