The 21st Moscow International Course on Endovascular Surgery TCT Russia-2019 was held on June 20–22, and the 35th International Conference “Introduction of High Technologies in Vascular Surgery and Phlebology” was held in St. Petersburg on June 21–23.
On June 19, the Endovascular Surgery Workshop was organized for young specialists as part of the Course on Endovascular Surgery. At the session devoted to the surgical treatment for peripheral artery disease, Mikhail Chernyavsky, head of Vascular and Interventional Surgery Research Department, and Nikolay Zherdev, junior researcher of Research Laboratory for Vascular and Hybrid Surgery, delivered 8 presentations on current guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of aortic and peripheral artery diseases.

The workshop brought together more than 200 specialists from all over the country. The topics of presentations provided opportunities for lively discussions on a number of controversial issues in drug therapy and surgical treatment of patients. The specialists of Almazov Centre shared their experience in treating patients with multifocal atherosclerosis. The main course attended by more than 1000 specialists from the leading clinics of Russia and abroad featured 180 presentations, 8 symposia and 17 hands-on workshops. Mikhail Chernyavsky presented the experience of the vascular surgery clinic in the treatment of multilevel lesions of lower limb arteries. At the nursing course, Nikolay Zherdev gave a presentation on the clinical case illustrating the basic principles of the surgical team.

At the same time, Saint Petersburg hosted the conference Introduction of High Technologies in Vascular Surgery and Phlebology organized by the Russian Society of Angiologists and Vascular Surgeons. The sessions of the conference covered the issues of surgical treatment for extracranial arteries as well as the problems of diagnosis and treatment of acute aortic syndromes.
At the round table session on the diagnosis and treatment for unusual and complicated cases, Daria Chernova, junior researcher of Research Laboratory for Vascular and Hybrid Surgery, presented the clinical case and a multidisciplinary approach for a minimally invasive treatment for thoracoabdominal aneurysm in a patient with a malignant stomach tumor.
The conference featured live broadcasts from ORs, interactive tutorials, trainings and workshops in various areas of vascular surgery.
