On October 15, a delegation from Bashkiria headed by Valentin Pavlov, President of the Bashkir State Medical University, visited Almazov National Medical Research Centre.
Director General of Almazov Centre Evgeny Shlyakhto presented to the guests the activities of the Centre, its development strategy as a leading research and clinical facility providing high-tech medical care as well as a medical research and educational centre in Russia.
The participants of the meeting discussed that early involvement of students in clinical practice and research work was essential to achieve the maximum integration of science and education. A notable example was the successful experience of the implementation of the higher education programme in General Medicine at Almazov Center. Such integration is especially important because the competence and competitiveness of new generations of specialists determine the level of further scientific achievements and their possible applied potential.
Also, the participants of the meeting outlined the prospects for further cooperation between Almazov Centre and Bashkir State Medical University.
The guests visited the clinical departments at the Main Clinical Facility as well as the sites where students study – the Preclinical Translational Research Centre and the Institute of Medical Education. Members of the delegation highly praised the laboratory facilities as well as the organization of the educational process as a whole.
