Mikhail Mosoyan performs a robot-assisted surgery using a unique technique developed at Almazov Centre

During the workshop “Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery in Urology” in Krasnodar attended by the best urological surgeons from around the country, Prof. Mikhail Mosoyan, head of the Urology Department with Robotic Surgery Course performed a unique surgery.

Robotic nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy was performed for localized cancer in a patient with an enlarged prostate gland. The surgery was performed with a posterior pelvic reconstruction. This was the first time that this new unique technique was demonstrated to a large audience. It was pioneered and patented by the team of the urology clinic at Almazov Centre. The surgery was successfully performed at the highest level despite the complexity of the case.
