On November 14, a delegation from the University of Oslo headed by Dean of Medicine Ivar Prydz Gladhaug visited Almazov Centre. Other delegation members were: Vice Dean of Internationalization and Innovation Hilde Nebb, Professors Emeritus Ola Didrik Saugstad and Ingvar Jarle Vaage, professors Kare-Olav Stenslokken and Joel Glover, PhD student Cecilie Revhaug.
Director General of Almazov Centre Prof. Evgeny Shlyakhto, as well as directors of two research institutes: Anna Kostareva, Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics and Elena Parmon, Director of the Medical Education Institute took part in the meeting.
The meeting featured a joint seminar on scientific collaboration where the participants discussed the projects on bronchopulmonary dysplasia, aortic valve calcification, cardiac protection and preconditioning project as well as new methods of using stem cells.
Major specialists of Almazov Centre took part in the seminar: Head of Research Institute for Microcirculation and Myocardial Metabolism Dmitry Sonin, Head of Research Laboratory for Molecular Cardiology and Genetics Anna Malashicheva, Head of Research Laboratory for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Andrey Bautin, Head of Department of Laboratory Medicine and Genetics Tatyana Vavilova, Head of Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Vadim Mazurok and others.
The visit ended with a tour around the Preclinical Translation Research Centre where the guests learned about the advantages of Almazov Centre in conducting the preclinical trials of new drugs and the available facilities for medical and biological research in general. Much attention was given to the search for new opportunities for cooperation in the field of education, joint programmes for specialist training, residency and PhD studies.
The participants of the meeting discussed the plans for further cooperation between Almazov Centre and the University of Oslo.
