The specialists of the Research Department for Vascular and Interventional Surgery continue their participation in scientific events. Another one is the 11th Annual Conference, Hybrid Technologies in the Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases. It was held on February 2–4, 2020 in Moscow at the National Medical Research Centre of Cardiology and chaired by Professor Renat Akchurin, President of the Russian Society of Angiologists and Vascular Surgeons.
Leading experts in open, endovascular and hybrid surgery gave presentations focusing on the main areas in the development of minimally invasive cardiovascular surgery.
The conference featured presentations on such relevant topics as hybrid technologies in the treatment of multilevel arterial lesions of the lower extremities (by Mikhail Chernyavsky, Head of Research Department for Vascular and Interventional Surgery), minimally invasive treatment of aortic valve disease (by Vladimir Krasnov, doctor for X-ray diagnostic methods and treatment) and aortic arch diseases (by researcher Daria Chernova).
The presented experience was a clear example of how the specialists of the Research Department for Vascular and Interventional Surgery research and use the modern technologies of world-class cardiovascular surgery.
During the event, surgeons from leading Russian healthcare facilities and foreign clinics exchanged their experiences, discussed the cases, presented their own developments and methods.
The final part of the meeting was the discussion on creating a unified registry of patients with aortic diseases involving three largest medical centres in Russia: National Medical Research Centre of Cardiology (Moscow), Meshalkin National Medical Research Centre (Novosibirsk), Almazov National Medical Research Centre (St. Petersburg).
Such an exchange of experience contributes to the integration of research into practice as well as the consolidation of the Russian and international medical community.
