On February 7, the Administration of St. Petersburg held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Russian Federation, Pierre Levy. The participants of the meeting were heads of specialized committees of the St. Petersburg Administration and official transplant expert from the Russian Federation at the Council of Europe, chief transplantologist of St. Petersburg, Head of the Research Laboratory for Thoracic Surgery at Almazov Centre, German Nikolaev.
The participants discussed the current state and perspective areas of bilateral cooperation between St. Petersburg and France in the economy, industry, social policy, ecology, education and healthcare.
As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on promoting constructive partnership in healthcare. The Ambassador of France expressed interest in the participation of French specialists in major congresses held in St. Petersburg.
