February 21-22, Almazov Centre and the Schwabe Holding held a joint workshop “Future Technologies for Smart Clinic”. The meeting was organized to create technological solutions a concept for a smart clinic and roadmaps planned to be developed and implemented at the Almazov Centre.
The event.was attended not only by the representatives of Almazov Centre and the Schwabe Holding, but also specialists from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical Institute “LETI” and “Digital Medical Services” LLC.
Workshop participants learned more about the vision of technology development in the field of healthcare in the largest equipment manufacturers.
The working part of the meeting was based on the design thinking methodology, one of the most successful tools for the rapid development of products focused on the users’ real needs. The members of the event were divided into three interdisciplinary teams, including participants with different specializations, for the most effective exchange of expert opinion.

Using the tools to develop empathy for the doctor and patient’s needs, ideas generation and developing rapid prototypes, in two days the teams created solution concepts for a smart clinic in three areas: Home to Hospital, artificial intelligence and remote monitoring.

In the nearest future, Almazov National Medical research Centre, the Schwabe Holding, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical Institute “LETI” will continue joint product develop for a smart clinic which concepts were firstly created as part of the workshop.
