On September 16, the Mariinsky Palace opened the photo exhibition «Side by side in the name of life» dedicated to the world challenge against the COVID-19 epidemic. The exhibition was organized with the assistance of the partner parliaments — the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and with the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly assistance. The photos show the life of cities during pandemic, doctors and volunteers’ work, mutual assistance of different regions and states. The event was attended by consuls general of foreign states, national parliament’s representatives, heads of medical institutions in St. Petersburg, volunteer movement.
Chairman of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly Vyacheslav Makarov opened the exhibition and told:
«We appreciate all the doctors, medical staff who saved lives, saved our city in this difficult time. They often sacrificed for people. We were strategically fighting the COVID-19 infection and saw many real feats».
Vyacheslav Makarov presented thank you letters of the Chairman of St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly to the Honorary Citizen of the city, Director General of the Almazov National Medical Research Centre Evgeny, St. Petersburg doctors and participants of the city volunteer movement.
