Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded the Order of Pirogov to Deputy Director General for Research, Alexandra Konradi.
The state award is named after Professor Nikolai Pirogov, a distinguished Russian surgeon and the founder of field surgery.
It was established to reward Russian medical workers for their dedication in providing medical care during epidemics, in emergency situations, hostilities and other circumstances involving a risk to life, for outstanding service in medicine and highly effective organization of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of especially dangerous diseases.
