On November 23, the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) Business Conclave, organized by the FICCI as the national chapter from India in the SCO Business Council, was held online. The event focused on the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic. Separate sessions were organized to discuss the issues of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the SCO member states, further development of healthcare systems as well as support for small and medium-sized businesses. The participants were representatives of business, trade and health care.
Almazov Centre is an active partner of the SCO Business Council on strengthening business ties between the SCO member states and implementing mutually beneficial programmes and projects in the field of medicine and health care.
The plenary session dedicated to medicine featured the presentation by Director General of Almazov Centre, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Evgeny Shlyakhto, “Almazov Centre during the COVID-19 pandemic: challenges and solutions.” Prof. Shlyakhto shared the experience gained during the pandemic and spoke about the measures taken at the Centre to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection and reduce its negative consequences.
The Indian party presented its experience in the field of traditional medicine and talked about the possibilities of its integration into existing healthcare systems to reduce the burden in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
