This year, Euroanaesthesia (the annual meeting of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care [ESAIC]) was held online on 28–30 November 2020.
The interdisciplinary team of researchers from the Laboratory of Nervous System Pathology, Laboratory of Integrative Neurosurgical Technologies of Polenov Neurosurgical Institute (branch of Almazov Centre) together with the specialists of Intensive Care Unit No. 12 of Almazov Centre presented three posters at scientific sessions «Anesthesiological support in neurosurgery», «New ideas in anesthesiology and critical care medicine», «Intensive care: sepsis and infections.»
The Congress also discussed the topical issues of anesthesiology and intensive care: cardiopulmonary resuscitation and techniques to optimize its performance; respiratory support for patients with COVID-19-aquired pneumonia; ethical issues of regional anesthesia in obstetrics; massive blood loss; new types of hemodynamic monitoring; cardio-cerebral relationship. The professional community of anesthesiologists and intensivists discussed the issues of patient safety in the perioperative period, summing up the ten-year results of the Declaration of Helsinki. The scientific programme of the Congress focused on the optimization of education in the field of anesthesiology and critical care medicine. A new generation of intravenous anesthetics was presented with the completed phase 3 of clinical trials.
