The international online workshop provided a platform for discussing the most topical issues of cardiology relating to the course and consequences of the coronavirus infection in patients with cardiovascular disease.
The participants also discussed other important issues such as heart transplantation in the context of COVID-19, special considerations for heart recipient management and cardiovascular rehabilitation during the pandemic.
Almazov Centre was represented by Pyotr Fedotov, Head of Research Laboratory of High-Tech Methods for Heart Failure Treatment and cardiologist/transplant surgeon Maria Simonenko, Researcher at the Research Laboratory of Cardiopulmonary Testing.
The workshop was also attended by specialists from Italy: Cristiano Amarelli – cardiothoracic surgeon of Monaldi Hospital, Azienda Ospedaliera dei Colli (Naples), Board Member of the European Cardio Thoracic Transplant Association (ECTTA), Executive Editor of Transplant International, and Marco Ambrosetti — Director, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, ASST Crema, member of the Italian Association of Hospital Cardiologists (ANMCO), member of the Central Board of the Italian Association of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (GICR-IACPR), member of the board of experts for Cardiac Rehabilitation Activities, Lombardy Health Agency.
