Elena Parmon, Director of the Medical Education Institute of Almazov Centre, and Galina Kukharchik, Dean of the General Medicine Faculty have won the St. Petersburg Government Award 2021. The award recognizes the outstanding achievements in higher and secondary professional education, and particularly the accomplishments in the development of a comprehensive programme for the innovative master’s training in medical and engineering areas through the educational and methodological support for the programme modules based on network interaction.
A large team of the faculty of the Medical Education Institute was involved. The proposed programme will contribute to forming a new engineering thinking at the intersection of technical specialties and the healthcare industry. In response to the great challenges faced by the country, specialists will emerge who will help solve complex problems together with doctors.
In 2021, a total of 92 projects were presented for the St. Petersburg Government awards for outstanding achievements in higher and secondary professional education, of which 81 were presented by higher education institutions.
On April 22, the Awarding Committee of the St. Petersburg Government held a meeting to determine the winners.
The awarding ceremony was held on May 27. Governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov presented the awards.
