On September 16–17, Minsk hosted the 2nd Congress of the Eurasian Arrhythmology Association and the 8th Congress of Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons and X-ray Endovascular Surgeons of Belarus.
The event featured presentations by leading experts from around the world. The plenary sessions were followed by symposia discussing the topical issues of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of circulatory diseases from the standpoint of world experience and evidence-based medicine as well as clinical case discussions and demonstration.
Specialists of Almazov Centre took an active part in the Congress. Deputy Director General for Research, Head of Arterial Hypertension Research Department Prof. Alexandra Konradi chaired the plenary session and several symposia, and also gave two presentations: «E-health: problems and prospects» and «Sympathetic nervous system and arterial hypertension.» Leading Researcher, Head of the Research Laboratory of High-Tech Methods for Heart Failure Treatment Pyotr Fedotov spoke on the topic “Practical aspects of the treatment of end-stage heart failure: case of Almazov Centre.” Deputy Director for Research of the Institute of Heart and Vessels, Head of Neuromodulation Research Laboratory Evgeny Mikhailov gave a presentation on the topic «RF ablation in the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.» Chief Researcher of NCDs Epidemiology Research Laboratory Oksana Rotar spoke about the concept of supernormal vascular aging in cardiology.

Together with Junior Researcher of the Population Genetics Research Laboratory of the WCRC for Personalized Medicine K. Tolkunova, they presented a poster entitled “Age features of socio-behavioral risk factors affecting vascular aging.”
The participants of the Congress shared their experience with colleagues, discussed the most important achievements of medical science as well as new technologies and innovations in the field of healthcare.
