The international event took place from September 22 to 25 in Moscow and brought together specialists from Russia, the CIS countries and Europe as well as representatives of international specialized societies. On the opening day of the Congress, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a welcome telegram to the participants. The President highlighted that in our country special attention is currently paid to the implementation of innovative solutions in the field of diagnosis, prevention and control of endocrine disorders – from orphan diseases to the most common ones.
A. Tsiberkin on behalf of the team of authors from Almazov Centre (A. Tsiberkin, K. Golovatyuk, E. Bykova, T. Karonova, A. Andreeva, M. Vashukova , U. Tsoi, E. Grineva) presented the results of a study of hypokalemia levels in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 pneumonia aimed at assessing the activity of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) at different blood potassium levels in such patients in his presentation «Hypokalemia and the activity of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) in COVID-19 patients.»
During the four days of the Congress, the participants discussed such topics as the epidemiology of endocrine disorders, the compilation of state registers of patients with endocrinopathies in medical science and practice, technologies for integrating the achievements of molecular medicine into clinical practice, drug interactions in endocrinologist’s practice and much more.
The Congress brought together specialists in the field of endocrinology, therapy, bariatrics, gerontology, pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology, traumatology, orthopedics, rheumatology, nephrology, gynecology and surgery and provided a venue for them to exchange experience and share knowledge.
The Congress featured plenary lectures, scientific meetings and symposia, round tables, scientific and practical training sessions, clinical case discussions, demonstrations of the latest information technologies and workshops by leading national and foreign experts.
