Governor Alexander Beglov and Deputy Chair of Sberbank Board Olga Golodets held a meeting of the working group on the development of healthcare in St. Petersburg using Sber digital technologies.
Alexander Beglov stated that the Digital Transformation Strategy was adopted in St. Petersburg. One of its priorities is digital medicine. Last July, St. Petersburg and Sber decided to expand cooperation on digital health. The digital health working group includes major medical institutions, including Almazov Almazov Centre, where Sber technologies are already being actively deployed.
One of the promising areas is the development of a remote monitoring system for patients with diabetes mellitus and hypertension, including pregnant women, as well as patients with other diseases. In a pandemic, such services will reduce the spread of infection and the risk of developing chronic diseases. Now the city is moving to issuing electronic prescriptions for subsidized medicines and plans to introduce such prescriptions for all medicines.
Another area is the introduction of voice recognition technologies for medical record filling. St. Petersburg and Sber will cooperate to create digital health decision-making systems and develop personalized medicine.
The participants of the meeting discussed the establishment of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Biomedicine at Chaikovskogo, 20 B. With the support of Sberbank, it will be used as a communication site for digital health partners in the Northwestern Federal District. In addition, it is planned to use the Boiling Point Coworking Space at Almazov Centre. Director General of Almazov Centre Evgeny Shlyakhto highlighted that since the Centre works with the regions, the experience and innovations in digital health technologies will be translated into healthcare in various constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
