On the opening day of the 5th St. Petersburg Medical Innovation Forum, Almazov Centre signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with St. Petersburg Technopark JSC to carry out scientific research and use advanced technologies in the development of innovative products in the field of medical services and pharmaceuticals.
The parties outlined the following areas of cooperation: joint development of innovative products based on recombinant protein technology; development of domestic point-of-care testing devices in accordance with clinical needs and the current trends in modern laboratory medicine; organization of a test site for domestic medical equipment, software and hardware solutions as part of the Smart Hospital and Smart Ward projects; development of new innovative enterprises established at Almazov Centre (Centre for Functional Nutrition, Register-Genome, Cardiologist Assistant); development of medical devices and drugs, including at the stage of preclinical studies and R&D; cooperation in the field of chemical synthesis; development of microfluidic chips for research in the field of interactomics using surface plasmon resonance.
As part of joint activities, the parties intend to develop panels for genetic diagnostic testing, analysis and research, in particular in the diagnosis of hematological malignancies, cardiomyopathies and microbiota assessment.
Joint projects are at different stages of implementation and are of crucial importance, while the jointly developed vector will help create a list of solutions and products for import substitution.
