From September 13 to 18, the 7th China Vascular Congress (CVC 2022) was held. The slogan of the congress was “Healthy blood vessels as a long river of life.” Almazov Centre was represented by Head of the Research Department of Vascular and Interventional Surgery, Dr. Mikhail Chernyavsky and Junior Researcher of the department Yulia Belova who shared their rich experience in treating patients using an innovative technique – endovascular aortic arch repair with in situ fenestration at the ostia of brachiocephalic arteries.
The Congress was organized by expert in this field, Chief Cardiovascular Surgeon of China, Prof. Dr. Chang Shu. In 2019, he took part in the international workshop at Almazov Centre featuring two surgical broadcasts, including endovascular aortic arch repair.
Since then, the vascular surgery clinic has performed more than 40 such procedures, and the number of patients treated annually has increased significantly. The professor noted significant progress in the endovascular treatment of patients with aortic arch diseases in Russia and congratulated the surgeons of Almazov Centre on the introduction of such sophisticated technology into daily clinical practice.
The 7th China Vascular Congress (CVC 2022) is an international event held annually as part of the China Heart Congress (CHC). The purpose of the congress is to provide an innovative and comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the field of CVD treatment. Every year, more than 1000 specialists from all over the world take part in the event to share their experience, and 2022 was no exception. There were 5 sessions and over 40 speakers from various countries in Europe and Asia. The event was held online and provided an interactive platform for academic exchange and discussions on the topical issues of vascular surgery by the world's leading experts.
