From September 10 to 14, Buenos Aires (Argentina) hosted the 29th International Congress of The Transplantation Society (TTS 2022).
Transplant cardiologist of the Clinical Diagnostic Centre Maria Simonenko, Researcher at the Cardiopulmonary Testing Research Laboratory, was invited to chair the lung transplantation committee and took part in the organization of the congress. She was a co-chair at the symposium «Heart & lung transplantation: something old something new» and State-of-the-Art Session: COVID-19 era: what has changed for lung transplantation?”
Maria Simonenko gave a presentation “Dynamics of physical capacity and quality of life in recipients after heart transplantation” at the abstracts session “Snapshots of thoracic transplantation” and presented a poster “Outcomes of heart failure patients excluded from heart transplant waiting list” at the poster session.
A total of more than 3,500 international experts in the field of transplantation medicine took part in the congress. The versatile program covered a wide range of topics, ranging from cutting-edge scientific advances to the latest ethical controversies. The attendees discussed and shared best practices in the development of transplantation programs and organ donation, learned about the latest research and clinical achievements.
It should be noted that during the congress, face-to-face meetings of the heart and lung transplantation committees and Women in Transplantation initiative were held for the first time since 2018.
