On September 29-30, Penza hosted the VIII All-Russian Forum InnoMed. The Forum is held annually by the Penza Region Government jointly with the federal government authorities and is one of the key events in the medical industry and healthcare.
The Forum is annually attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Health, the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare, the Association of Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers. This year’s Forum featured the All-Russian Exhibition of High-Tech Medical Products where more than 20 innovative enterprises from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kirov and Penza regions presented their developments.
The highlight of the forum was the exhibition presenting innovative projects of domestic high-tech medical products. Specialists of the Research Department of Vascular and Interventional Surgery headed by Dr. Mikhail Chernyavsky presented their own Ministry-approved projects to develop three new stents for minimally invasive endovascular procedures for diseases of the aorta, brachiocephalic arteries and arteries of the lower extremities.
At the round table «Solving the challenges of import substitution and reducing the risk of defects in high-tech medical products», Dr. Artemiy Chernov, Head of Cardiovascular Surgery Department No. 2 presented the experience and results of preclinical studies conducted by the specialists of the department at the Preclinical Translational Research Centre.
The Forum also featured a scientific and practical conference on Hybrid Technologies in Cardiovascular Surgery where speakers were experts from all the leading federal centres. In her presentation, Yulia Belova, Junior Researcher at the Research Department of Vascular and Interventional Surgery, shared many years of Centre’s experience in performing minimally invasive hybrid surgeries for diseases of the aorta and its branches.
Today, participation in scientific forums and exhibitions is an objective necessity for all leading medical institutions in the country. Evaluation of new projects and developments at such events makes it possible to establish cooperation with industrial partners as well as other scientific and technical platforms in the production of medical devices, thus opening the way to the introduction of innovative Russian-made products into clinical practice.
