Almazov Centre held the joint strategic session with the participation of executives, external experts and members of the Centre’s Board of Trustees.
Based on the experience of implementing large projects and a strategic vision of economic and social development, the experts jointly analyzed the impact of the external environment on the activities of Almazov Centre taking into account forecasts of technological progress, social and economic changes, and also proposed a scenario for the development of the Centre.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of Almazov Centre highlighted:
“Today, Almazov Centre combines the trinity of research, clinic and education, and indeed in many areas is the leading institution of Russia. In general, the basis for moving forward has already been formed, and this is a launching pad in order to reach a completely different level of development for the National Medical Research Centre in 3 to 5 years, which will become truly competitive in the world.”
Deputy Director General for Information Technology and Project Management Dmitry Kurapeev presented the development strategy of Almazov Centre until 2030. After discussion of strategy proposals, Andrey Rudskoy, Rector of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, gave a presentation on the topic “Interaction strategy: Almazov Centre, Translational Medicine Cluster and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.”
In closing, the experts discussed proposals for cooperation and outlined an action plan to finalize the development strategy of Almazov Centre. According to experts, the joint strategic session made it possible to comprehensively assess the existing achievements and correctly outline promising areas for development for the benefit of Russian healthcare, medical science and education.
