On December 16, Almazov Centre hosted the 1st All-Russian conference with international participation themed “Innovative Educational Technologies for the Practical Training of Surgical Skills – Live Tissue Training: Realities and Prospects of WetLab in Russia.” The conference took place online. It was held as part of the programme of the World-Class Research Centre for Personalized Medicine.
The participants focused on the systemic modular training of surgical skills, simulation training technologies for surgical specialties, working with animals in WetLab (selection, maintenance, bioethics, disposal, etc.) as well as the principles of operation of the Accreditation and Simulation Centre.
The speakers gave presentations on a range of topics: technologies of live tissue training in Russia, the structure of live tissue and simulation training courses, the details of working with laboratory animals used in the learning process, course duration and planning at Almazov Centre.
Instructors and specialists of the Centre shared their experience in implementing relevant educational programs for live tissue training of manual skills using the WetLab integrated operating room.
The experts spoke on the important issues of translating surgical technologies through live tissue training, emphasized the importance of using biomaterials in mastering surgical skills, discussed simulation training technologies for surgical specialties as well as the organization of WetLab in modern realities, taking into account preoperative preparation and the preoperative period.
