From December 8 to 10, the specialists of Almazov Centre took part in the 12th All-Russian Congress of Pediatric Cardiology 2022 in Moscow. They delivered 11 presentations and were moderators in 5 sessions.
Director General Evgeny Shlyakhto attended the opening ceremony and gave welcome remarks. The topics covered included: diagnosis and treatment of CVDs in children, congenital heart defects, genetically determined heart diseases, myocarditis and heart failure treatment.
During the three days of the congress, the specialists of Almazov Centre shared knowledge about new technologies for understanding heart diseases at the molecular level, the latest research data in the field of pediatric cardiology and personal experience in managing and treating young patients. The results of research in a number of areas were presented by E. S. Vasichkina (“Myocarditis”), S. G. Fetisova (“A clinical case of fatal giant cell myocarditis in a patient with cardiomyopathy”), O. A. Kofeynikova (“Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy in children: new criteria, new phenotypes, new approaches”), D. Yu. Alekseeva (“A new approach to a treadmill test in children of primary and preschool age”), A. V. Gorbatykh (“Transcatheter procedures on the aortic valve and aorta in the first year of life”), P. A. Fedotov (“The role of mechanical circulatory support in CHF treatment in children: patient selection”).
The event featured a symposium of Almazov Centre entitled “Follow-up of children after heart transplantation”, where the following experts gave presentations: T. M. Pervunina (“Heart transplantation in children: 10 years of experience of Almazov Centre”), T. L. Vershinina (“Treatment and follow-up of children after heart transplantation: risks, complications, prospects”), E. V. Yakovleva («Clinical case: treatment of RV failure in the early stages after implantation of the HeartMate3 LVAD in a child»), M. A. Simonenko («Heart transplantation in children. Long post-transplant period. Transition to the adult program»).
On the last day of the congress, the results of the young scientist competition were summed up, the second-place winner was S. G. Fetisova, who presented the results of research of the WCRC for Personalized Medicine («Genetics in Pediatric Cardiology»).
