From December 9 to 10, the annual congress with international participation Heart Failure 2022 took place in Moscow. It was organized by the Society of Heart Failure Specialists.
During the 2 days of the congress, the specialists of Almazov Centre presented 18 oral and 4 poster presentations in the field of heart failure and heart transplantation. Also, they acted as chairs in congress sessions: A. O. Konradi (symposium themed «30 years of the cardiovascular continuum. Where are we now? Expert advice and recommendations»), P. A. Fedotov (symposium themed “Achievements and new issues in heart failure treatment before and after heart transplantation”), T. A. Lelyavina (symposia “Cardiac rehabilitation of patients with chronic heart failure: basic principles and problems”, “Palliative care for heart failure patients”), S. V. Villevalde (symposia “The thorny path of an outpatient with chronic heart failure”, “Additional therapy for chronic heart failure”) and T. A. Lyubimtseva (symposium themed “Indications and possibilities of ventricular pacing in heart failure patients”).
The congress highlighted not only the experience of managing patients with heart failure and those after heart transplantation, but also the prospects for the treatment of such patients. Lively discussions showed that end-stage heart failure is not a sentence, but a starting point for the teamwork of doctors of various specialties, maintaining continuity between outpatient and inpatient settings, and updating prevention in high-risk patients. The presented results reflect the role of the teamwork of Almazov Centre specialists in improving the survival of patients with chronic heart failure and heart transplant recipients.
