The Centre's first heart transplant was performed in January 2010, and more than two hundred transplants have been performed to date. A lot has changed since then, but its team of specialists stands proudly and each member serves as an integral part of the team. Our cardiologists, transplant surgeons, cardiac surgeons, intensivists and many others work together to lead patients to a healthy life with a new heart. Everyone on this team is responsible for their part of work. They have contributed greatly to the development of transplantation at Almazov Centre and are involved in the management of patients after heart transplantation.
