From 3 to 15 April, Almazov Centre hosted the 15th Advanced Training Workshop on «Strategy and Tactics of Chronic Heart Failure Treatment», which consisted of various seminars and case discussions reflecting the modern strategy and tactics for the treatment of chronic heart failure.
This year's training brought together 179 students from St Petersburg and other cities (Krasnoyarsk, Saratov, Kirov, Sochi, Perm, etc.) and several remote participants. For the first time, cardiologists from abroad took part in the event: specialists from the Cardiology Centre in Turkmenistan. The audience included doctors from polyclinics and hospitals, general practitioners, cardiologists, functional diagnosticians, arrhythmologists, clinical residents from St. Petersburg medical universities.
Within 12 days, a team of teachers, experts in their fields, gave 55 lectures and presented 11 clinical cases. The most relevant topics covered were: the pathogenesis of CHF, the basics of patient examination, high-tech methods of examination and treatment, the latest guidelines for the management of CHF patients adopted by international professional communities and the Russian Ministry of Health for 2020—2023.
Lectures on practical schemes of drug therapy, cardiac surgery, arrhythmology, electrophysiology and the latest diagnostic methods were of great interest to the audience. All the lectures were followed by lively discussions. Suggestions from the audience at the end of the event always form the basis for future educational programmes on CHF.
