On May 26, Almazov Centre hosted a scientific and practical event themed «Improving the system of medical care and provision of medicines for cardiovascular patients, including the implementation of a vertically integrated medical information system in the Northwest Federal District».
The meeting was attended by Badma Bashankaev, Deputy Chairman of the Health Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Federal Assembly, Oleg Ergashev, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, Oliya Artemova, Deputy Director for Digital Development and Information Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Health, representatives of the St. Petersburg Health Committee, pharmaceutical industry specialists and healthcare executives.
Participants of the event discussed technologies for reducing mortality from cardiovascular diseases; activities of regional programmes to combat cardiovascular diseases; effective routing of patients with circulatory diseases using the example of patients with acute coronary syndrome as part of the federal project on CVD control; organisational, educational and scientific opportunities in the field of chronic heart failure. The experts also discussed the integration of vertically integrated medical information systems in the regions; the achievement of targets and methods for reducing cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in the Kaliningrad region; and the current state of medical care for chronic heart failure in the Arkhangelsk region.
