The new edition of THE 2023 Impact Rankings, released on June 1, placed Almazov Centre in the top 100 universities in their assessment against Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) of the United Nations’ Sustainability Development Goals (SDG). Almazov Centre showed an impressive climb, moving from 101-200 last year to 75th place this year.
Additionally, Almazov Centre was ranked third in Russia (4th last year) for this SDG for its ongoing efforts to promote healthy living and well-being through world-class research and teaching.
For SDG 3, THE measured 1,218 universities from 106 countries, including 59 Russian universities, on their research on key diseases and conditions, their support for healthcare professions, and the health of students and staff.
Times Higher Education Impact initiative ranks universities against the United Nations’ (UN) 17 Sustainable Development Goals that are planned to be achieved by 2030. The SDGs are a global call to action issued by the UN and include areas such as education, reduction of poverty, gender equity, peace and justice, healthy living, and clean energy, among others. The 2023 Impact Rankings is the fifth edition, and the overall ranking includes 1,591 universities from 112 countries/regions.
Being recognised as the third in Russia and among the top 100 in the world for contributions to the global challenges of health is an excellent achievement for Almazov Centre, and further showcases its outstanding work related to promoting good health and well-being.
