Sber and Almazov Centre embark on a large-scale scientific and technological cooperation as Almazov Centre has launched the Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (CAIM), a unique combination of digital technologies and services from Sberbank and partner companies in the healthcare sector, the experience of doctors and the expertise of Russia’s leading medical research institution. The CAIM was officially inaugurated at the meeting of the Board of Trustees on the eve of the Health Worker Day.
CAIM’s goal is to improve patient care through the introduction of effective, proven solutions and artificial intelligence (AI) models into clinical practice. Doctors will use solutions from Sberbank's Health Industry and partner companies in their daily practice: SberHealth remote monitoring, TOP-3 intelligent physician assistant and Voice2Med solution for medical records.
The Sber CAIM will enable further training of existing models and refinement of solutions with the expert support of doctors and specialists from Almazov Centre. It will also be possible to jointly develop new AI-based models that can detect signs of critical conditions in patients, determine the risk of deterioration and classify them into risk groups. The CAIM developments will be made available to the medical community and will contribute to the development of guidelines. In the future, the comprehensive set of AI models for the management of CVD patients will make it possible to identify the risk of disease at an early stage, increase the effectiveness of treatment and significantly reduce mortality.
The opening ceremony was attended by Valentina Matvienko, Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council of the Federal Assembly, Herman Gref, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, and Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of Almazov National Medical Research Centre.
