GLP-PLANET IV conference was held in St. Petersburg on June 28-30, 2023 annually the event brings together leading experts in preclinical research, representatives of pharmaceutical companies, members of professional associations and communities, experts in quality management systems and good laboratory practice (GLP).
The conference aims are the dissemination of knowledge and creation of the integrated GLP information field, developing new strategies in drugs research, humane attitude to laboratory animals, training, development of the industry that contribute to the introduction of domestic& local drugs to the foreign market.
Almazov Centre specialists took an active part in GLP-PLANET IV as well. Director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine, RAS corresponding member, Professor Mikhail Galagudza moderated the session “Design of a pharmacological experiment. Implementation of the ARRIVE principles in research centers” and presented “ARRIVE 2.0 in Russia: will we run, will we walk or will we crawl?” and highlighted the modern issues and reproducibility of experimental studies results and ways to improve it associated with the proper data presentation in research publications.
Maria Istomina, junior researcher of the Research Department of Nanotechnology presented a report “Fluorescence imaging in modern experimental studies” and paid special attention to the unique possibilities of optical imaging methods in modern biomedicine and theranostics.
Lada Murashova, junior researcher of the Research Laboratory of Neurogenesis and Neurodegenerative Diseases, made the presentation on “Transgenic fish: pitfalls of keeping and investigating” and talked about the features of zebradanio in different scientific research.
Irina Zelinskaya, a researcher of the Research Laboratory of Bioprosthetics and Cardioprotection presented the report “Analysis and generalization principles in experimental studies results” and explained the nuances of experimental data processing and their interpretation.
Yana Toropova, Deputy Director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine moderated the session “Biodiversity. Selection of experimental animals. Alternative models in biomedical experiments” and presented the report “Laboratory animals for solving educational problems – pros and cons”.
Marina Vasyutina, the chief veterinarian of the veterinary service of Preclinical Translational Research Centre spoke on “Quality of laboratory animals from the standpoint of veterinary science”.
The presentation of the peer-reviewed scientific and practical journal «Translational Medicine» was organized at the conference site: the journal articles cover the latest achievements in medicine to ensure the relationship between basic science and clinical practice.
