On September 25-27, 2023, the 6th Russian National Congress with international participation – Organ Transplantation and Donation was held in the Shumakov National Medical Research Centre of Transplantology and Artificial Organs, Moscow.
The 6th Russian National Congress “Organ Transplantation and Donation” brought together healthcare leaders, representatives of top public authorities, public organizations, Russian and foreign leaders of clinical medicine and biomedical science. The event was dedicated to the topical issues of organ donation and transplantation.
At the congress the Chairman of the Russian Transplantology Society, Chief transplant specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Gautier awarded the «Academician Shumakov Medal» to the Chief Visiting Transplantologist of the St. Petersburg Healthcare Committee, Head of the Research Laboratory of Thoracic Surgery at Almazov Centre, German Nikolaev.
«Academician Shumakov Medal» is awarded to the specialists who made personal contribution to the scientific research and development in clinical transplantology, cardiovascular surgery and artificial organs, as well as contributed to public recognition of the problem and supported the Shumakov National Medical Research Centre of Transplantology and Artificial Organs.
