The Third Russian Diagnostic Summit took place on October 4-6, 2023 in Moscow and will brought together several major events: IX Russian Congress of Laboratory Medicine, VI Final Conference of MRO RORR on Radiological, Ultrasound, and Functional Diagnostics and MIR Forum: Management in Medicine.
The Summit program was extremely fruitful and rich in 2023; one of the most significant events was the awarding ceremony for the winners of Menshikov Prize held on October 6 as part of the IX Russian Congress of Laboratory Medicine. The Prize was established by the decision of the Presidium of Association of Laboratory Service Specialists «Federation of Laboratory Medicine» and is awarded annually in three nominations.
This year in the nomination «For Contribution to Laboratory Service Development» the Menshikov Prize was awarded to the young team of Almazov National Medical Research Centre headed by Professor Tatyana Vavilova. Professor Vavilova thanked the Association «Federation of Laboratory Medicine» for recognizing the merits of the Chair and added the team always actively goes forward and strives to work in new educational format.
This year, the interdisciplinary focus of the scientific program of the Summit was the theme of inflammation as the leitmotif of diagnostics; it covered more than 200 scientific sessions of the event. Experts discussed various pathological processes from the perspective of their specialization as well as from the standpoint of common diagnostic service problems. Among other key themes of the Summit there were current issues in molecular diagnostics, genetics and immunology, radiological, ultrasound, functional, and radionuclide diagnostics, hematology and hemostasis, microbiological research and infectious diseases, quality assurance and adequate interpretation of results issued, as well as education and training of personnel, organization and economics of diagnostic services, and medical device regulation.
The Summit was attended by the specialists from 32 countries, including delegations from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Ethiopia, Algeria, Serbia, India and Turkey. More than 750 experts and leaders in medical diagnostics became moderators and speakers of the scientific and educational program, in 2023, the Summit brought together the record-breaking number of the participants: 11,923 specialists. About 200 leading companies-manufacturers, distributors of medical equipment and software developers presented at the exhibition «Diagnopolis».
The Summit included a joint meeting of two commissions of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation: in clinical laboratory diagnostics and medical microbiology.
